There is magic in the feel of a paddle and the movement of a canoe, a magic compounded of distance,
adventure, solitude and peace. The way of a canoe is the way of the wilderness and of a freedom almost
forgotten, the open door to waterways of ages past and a way of life with profound and abiding satisfaction.

This route provides a great opportunity to experience some of the best the
Boundary Waters has to offer, and is particularly good for discovering
hidden waterfalls.  You'll find wilderness, and quality time to relax and
enjoy it.

We'll travel about five miles by canoe into the wilderness before finding a
picture-perfect campsite to set up your first camp.  You'll feel like you've
accomplished something to get there after the two or three (depending on
water levels) portages we passed to get here.  These portages are reasonable
and, in sum, total about a half mile.

Once our tents are pitched, hammock hung, and tarp tied, it's time to get
down to serious relaxing, swimming, exploring, or fishing.

You may like this campsite so much you decide to stay here for the next
night or two, and exit via the route we entered.

Should you decide to keep moving camp, you may decide to try for the
single campsite on a nearby lake you.

Alternatively, you can make the trip more challenging and do a loop route.
If so, you will travel another five miles by canoe, with four portages totaling
less than a half mile, and ending at a possible island or rocky peninsula

The last day on the traveling route option is about 7 miles of canoeing, with
between three and five portages (depending on water levels) totaling about
3/4 of a mile.
NOTE:  This is merely a sample itinerary for a relaxing canoe trip.
We customize all our trips and serve dozens of BWCA entry points & routes.
